Guwahati: The supermarket flyover in Guwahati likely to be opened for road traffic on November 3, said official on Friday.
On GS Road in the city, it will be a 1.21-kilometer-long T-shaped flyover. The city’s double-lane flyover will connect Dispur and Khanapara, as well as Supermarket and the Last Gate.
The flyover’s overall project cost is around Rs. 127.20 crore, as per sources.
The construction of the flyover was supposed to take 36 months, but it only took 18-19 months.
On October 27, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is in charge of the PWD ministry, reviewed the flyover construction site.
The CM’s escort travelled through the flyover while he walked from the Supermarket to Janata Bhavan.
Taking to the twitter, CM wrote, “Inspected the newly-constructed flyover at Dispur Supermarket, Guwahati. Happy to see that the flyover is almost ready for inauguration. With the opening of this flyover, traffic congestion in the area will significantly get reduced.”
