    Guwahati: Huge cache of drugs recovered; 2 arrested

    The accused were identified as Faruk Ahmed aka Mukter aka Sahrukh Ahmed (23) and one lady namely Mrs Cosmise (37).

    Guwahati: Huge cache of drugs recovered; 2 arrested

    Guwahati:  A team of Crime Branch and Dispur Police on Friday recovered huge cache of drugs and arrested two persons in connection with the case from Ganeshguri in Guwahati.

    The accused were identified as Faruk Ahmed aka Mukter aka Sahrukh Ahmed (23) and one lady namely Mrs Cosmise (37).

    The officials also seized one packet Herion weighing 12 gms and cash of Rs 6,42,500 and one mobile phone from Ahmed.

    As per the statement of Ahmed, the lady Cosmise was apprehended at a city hotel and during interrogation it came into light that Ahmed came to the city hotel to give the seized amount to the lady for their drug consignment.

    Ahmed also stated that about 15 days ago, he received 25 packets pf drugs from the lady at Guwahati, which he already has distributed.

    The seized packet was last of their consignment. An investigation is underway.
