Kamrup metro authority said that the web portal was the first 'blind people’ friendly election site in the state

GUWAHATI: In a bid to provide hassle-free service and to address the various queries of the electorates of the capital city of Guwahati, the Kamrup (metro) district administration launched a web portal-‘deokamrupmetro.in’ on Wednesday.

The web portal has the list of all the polling stations and the names and contact numbers of all the booth level officers (BLO) of all the four assembly constituencies of Jalukbari, Dispur, West and East Gauhati under the metro administration.

Kamrup (metro) district’s deputy commissioner Biswajit Pegu said, “Voters can call the BLOs to know any specific information easily. The web portal has provided audio messages for voters without eyesight.”

He said that the web portal was the first ‘blind people’ friendly election site in the state.
