Guwahati: After being shut for nearly nine months, the Northeastern region’s primary astronomical education and research centre – Guwahati Planetarium reopens for visitors on Sunday.
The planetarium was shut down since the nationwide lockdown announced in March 2020 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Norms of social distancing and all other protocols mandated by the government for the COVID-19 pandemic will be strictly maintained in the planetarium.
Recently, a state-of-the-art-multi-activity centre worth Rs 12.42 crore was inaugurated within the planetarium premises. The activity centre would provide the visitors with – D theatre, Virtual Reality Lab, Tinkering Lab and an auditorium with all modern facilities.
