    Guwahati Police issues guidelines for New Year celebrations

    The order passed by Police Commissioner of Guwahati Munna Prasad Gupta directed that only licensed bars can be opened till 12 am on New Year.

    Guwahati: In the wake of the new Coronavirus strain, the Guwahati police on Tuesday had issued fresh guidelines or SOPs as preventive measures for the party-goers for New Year celebrations.

    The order passed by Police Commissioner of Guwahati Munna Prasad Gupta directed that only licensed bars can be opened till 12 am, with not more than 50% capacity.

    Naka checking will be installed at various places in the city this New Year.

    Denizens are requested not to drive vehicles under the influence of alcohol.

    The clubs/party people have to keep in mind that no loud music will be allowed post 10 pm in the city.

    Following of safety protocols such as wearing masks and use of sanitizers are mandatory.
