Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, a youth was feared to have drowned in Brahmaputra river on Monday when he fell down in the river accidentally.

Source said that the youth was shooting video on his mobile phone when he slipped and fell into the river at city’s Pandu area.

The youth was identified as Bishal Ghosh, a resident of Boripara in the Pandu locality of the city.

Though police rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation, the youth was yet to be rescued.

The state disaster response force (SDRF) teams have started rescue operation already.
