Silchar: In an unfortunate incident, a Haj pilgrim from Assam was reported dead after he met with a road accident while on his way to Mecca, the desert valley in western Saudi Arabia.

The Haj pilgrim has been identified as Ajijur Rehman Basrat Ali Laskar(80), he was a resident of Hatikhal area under Cachar district.

Reports stated that Laksar had sustained serious injuries after a speeding vehicle hit him from behind. He was admitted at a local hospital in Mecca and was fighting for life for the last 5 days. He succumbed to his injuries last night.
