Guwahati: In a scene that could be taken for a movie, two handcuffed prisoners who were brought to Tamulpur Primary Health Centre (PHC) for a medical check-up has escaped from the clutches of the police.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon.

According to reports, the police have managed to catch hold of one of the prisoners with the help of local people while the other managed to escape with handcuffs still on.

The prisoner who had managed to escape police custody has been identified as Juma Brahma while another prisoner namely Salim is in police custody now.

Earlier, the Tamulpur police had arrested both the youths for drug possession in Assam’s Tamulpur district.
