    Heroin worth Rs 40 lakhs Seized in Karbi Anglong

    Investigation revealed that the drugs came from Dimapur and a motorbike used to monitor police checking was also seized

    HAFLONG: Acting on a tip-off, on suspected transportation of drugs, Karbi Anglong police led by Bokajan SDPO John Das accompanied by OC Khaatkhati PS, Mwblik Brahma, CI Barpathar Insp Bhupen Kalita on Sunday evening recovered 47 soapboxes containing 600 gms of heroin from a vehicle at Kaliram Basti under Khatkati Police Station in Karbi Anglong.

    Three people identified as Amjod Ali (23) resident of Morigaon, Mujamil Ali (29) of Nagaon and Monor Uddin (22), of Noonmati, were arrested in connection with the drug peddling.

    Police officials said that the approximate value of the drugs would be around Rs 40 lakhs and on preliminary interrogation, it revealed that the drugs came from Dimapur and a motorbike used to monitor police checking was also seized.

    The two-wheeler has Nagaland registration. Police said an investigation was on.
