    High Security Arrangements For Durga Puja In Guwahati, Police On Toes

    Guwahati Police Commissioner, Deepak Kumar said the puja committees have been instructed to install sufficient CCTV cameras

    Guwahati Police is making high-security arrangements to ensure peaceful Durga Puja this year. The law and order machinery has been pressed into service to ensure peaceful conduct of the autumnal festival.

    With puja fever gripping the city folks, the Guwahati Police has pulled up its socks to make the five-day-long celebration a trouble-free festival.

    Addressing the media persons here on September 11th, 2019, Deepak Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Guwahati said that his team has taken all adequate measures to prevent any possible attempt to create unrest during the Durga Puja celebration in the city.

    He also mentioned that additional police force will be deployed at several strategic locations. “The puja committees have been instructed to install sufficient CCTV cameras at their respective pandals to prevent any untoward incident,” Kumar added.

    The Guwahati Police chief further said that his team has received inputs of miscreants taking shelter in the city. “We have already nabbed three few days ago. As per inputs, a group of six to seven has taken shelter in the city. They have reportedly come from Delhi. So, we have beefed up the security across the city,” he added.

    The most awaited Durga puja celebration will start from October 5th, 2019.
