    Himanta gets his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Guwahati

    Third phase of the COVID-19 Vaccination began across the entire state on Monday

    Guwahati: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Assam Cabinet Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma takes his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Monday evening.

    Informing about the matter, Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter saying, “As people above 45 years with co-morbidities are eligible in phase 2, I took my first dose of #COVID19Vaccine at GMCH today. All those under this category are advised to take their doses. Across Assam, our hospitals are geared up for speedy rollout of vaccination.”

    Meanwhile, the third phase of the COVID-19 Vaccination began across the entire state, with citizens aged 60 years and above, and those between 45 to 59 years with comorbidities being eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

    Around 763 beneficiaries aged 60 years and above, and 224 beneficiaries between 45 to 59 years of age with comorbidities have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine across the entire state, till 6 PM on Monday. Also, 676 Healthcare workers (HCWs) and 3937 Frontline Workers (FLWs) have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 1419 HCWs and 9 FLWs have received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today, till 6 PM. Around 180 sessions have been conducted today across the entire state.

    About 100 beneficiaries aged 60 years and above, consisting of 56 males and 44 females, and 73 beneficiaries between 45 to 59 years of age with comorbidities, consisting of 30 males and 43 females, have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today at Guwahati Medical College & Hospital, Guwahati.

    Out of the 180 sessions conducted till Monday, 134 sessions administered Covishield to 679 beneficiaries aged 60 years and above; 208 beneficiaries between ages 45 to 59 years of age with comorbidities; 341 HCWs and 3216 FLWs who received their first dose of the Covishield vaccine; while 1263 HCWs and 9 FLWs received their second dose of the Covishield vaccine. The remaining 46 sessions administered Covaxin to 84 beneficiaries aged 60 years and above; 16 beneficiaries between ages 45 to 59 years of age with comorbidities; 335 HCWs and 721 FLWs who received their first dose of the Covaxin vaccine; while 156 HCWs received their second dose of the Covaxin vaccine.
