Guwahati, January 12: Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday took a jibe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi and stated that the “Gandhi family” would be washed out in the 2019 elections.
Sarma was addressing at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s two-day National Executive Council meeting at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. He also listed the BJP’s achievement in the Northeast states.
“I have no doubt that the Gandhi family will be washed out in 2019 polls. I still remember, during a meeting with him, he (Rahul) was feeding biscuits to his dog instead of listening to Assam woes,” he said.
The two-day event, which began on Friday, was organised with an aim to lay final guidelines for thousands of party leaders for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The event was inaugurated on Friday by BJP chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Modi will conclude the executive meeting with his valedictory address on Saturday.
