Hindu body lodges FIR against Muslim man in Doomdooma over Facebook post

Tinsukia, September 14: The Hindu Yuba Chatra Parishad, Assam has lodged an FIR against one Md Aziz Khan for making “derogatory comments” and hurting the “sentiments of the Hindus”.

The Hindu body lodged the FIR against Aziz at the Tinsukia Police Station. Khan is a resident of Natun Bazar, Borhapjan.

Ek raat k raam kaa maa ko de hame fir se dusra raam nikal dunga gai kaa mans kha k (sic),” Aziz posted on Facebook.

Aziz has also been accused of threatening to “cause communal riots among the persons of the locality”. The FIR was lodged on September 10.

It may be mentioned that a clash broke out between two groups in Doomdooma in Tinsukia on Friday over the Facebook post by Aziz.

The complainant body claimed that the police didn’t take “any action” against Aziz and called for a complete shut down in the locality.

The clash turned violent and to control the agitators, police had to resort to lathi-charge and open firing to disperse the protestors. The agitators also staged protest on the National Highway.

The district administration appealed all to maintain peace.

Aziz is said to be absconding and additional security forces have been deployed in the locality.
