Guwahati: The Secondary Education Board of Assam on Monday announced a fresh date of the cancelled examination of General Science scheduled on March 13 will be held on March 30, 2023.
The board also released the date of the English examination, which was cancelled in JR Higher Secondary School, Ganirgram under Cachar district, which will be held on March 28.
Taking to Twitter, the state education minister Ranoj Pegu wrote, “The cancelled examination of General Science scheduled today (13/3/23) will now be held on 30 March 2023. On the other hand, the cancelled English examination in JR Higher Secondary School, Ganirgram will be held on 28th March. SEBA has issued notice.”
Pegu also appealed to the HSLC candidates not to panic or feel disheartened over cancellation of General Science examination.
The minister also said that this is the second time that paper leak incidents was reported after almost 17 years. The last time paper leak incidents were reported in the year 2006.
Following the announcement of the cancellation of the examination by the board on Sunday night, Pegu received criticism from both the students and opposition parties.
Several parties and student’s organizations have burnt the effigy of education minister Ranoj Pegu demanding his resignation as education minister.
On the second day of the Assam Legislative Assembly’s budget session, the opposition parties cornered the BJP-led government in this regard. Congress Debabrata Saikia and Rakibul Hussain led the charge.
