HSLC and HS/AHM exams on cards; final call by health department: Minister Ranoj Pegu
Guwahati: Newly appointed state education minister Ranoj Pegu on Sunday informed that the department is ready to hold HSLC, HS/AHM examination 2021 at a 15 days’ notice from the health department of Assam.
The final decision for conducting the examinations will be made on the basis of the current COVID situation in the state, stated the minister.
Speaking to TIME8, Minister Ranoj Pegu said, “We are prepared to conduct the exam at a 15 days’ notice from the health department. However, it is upto the people of the state, if they follow the given guidelines by the Assam government, then for sure, the situation will normalize soon. Once the positivity rate comes down, we might get permission from the health department to hold the examinations. The examinations will be held offline.”
The minister urged the parents and students for their cooperation and to prepare themselves for the examination.
Pegu informed that a draft has been prepared for conducting both HSLC and HS/AHM examinations. Moreover, the candidates will be able to appear in the exam of 3 subjects of their choice.
“A web portal has also been developed, all the candidates can make their subject choices via mobile phones or computer,” added Minister Ranoj Pegu.
