Guwahati, August 2, 2019

Bharatiya Janata Party’s national vice-president and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on August 2nd, 2019, said implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Bill is the “ultimate goal” of the party.

“The refugees of different religion and caste live in India. If they are deported out of the country, they would not be able to go anywhere. The central government will take every necessary step to protect them,” Chouhan said.

He further said that the saffron party’s resolution is to protect the minorities, who have a threat to their life and cannot take refuge other than India. “Those who have entered the country to ravage and ruin will be deported,” Chauhan added.

Talking about the passage of Triple Talaq Bill, Chouhan said, “It is a big win for the party and a big relief for the Muslim women.”  The Bill, which was first introduced in December 2017 in the Lok Sabha, was cleared in the Rajya Sabha on July 30th, 2019. He also advocated for the nation-wide implementation of the National Register of Citizens.

On the other hand, launching a scathing attack on the Congress, Chouhan said the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during the Congress rule was made a caged bird. “All decisions were taken by mother and son and Manmohan Singh just sat and watched,” Chouhan added.

“Congress is dying due to its sins. The Congress is responsible for the partition of the country,” added Chouhan. He further alleged that Singh failed to develop the Northeast.
