A very beautiful and mesmerizing lake, which is the second largest seasonal wetland in Asia and the largest wetland in Assam, Son Beel is located in Karimganj district of Assam.

The most unique part of this Beel is that during the dry winter season it becomes a fully functional farm land where one can cultivate rice. And during rainy season, this stretch of land swells up with water and becomes a lake.

Son Beel is famous for its fishery and it is one of the main producers of fish for the entire district in southern Assam.
People mostly visit the Lake during the rainy season as it gives a picturesque landscape with hills on both east and west sides.
Apart from those, sunrise and sunset near the lake gives you a colorful view with sun rays reflecting in different ways.

Son Beel can be easily reached from Karimganj which is just 43 km away.
With spectacular sunrises and sunsets and dramatic night sky filled with the stars and moon, Son Beel is a place that, once visited, is hard to forget.
