Fresh snowfall and the severe cold wave have swept the Northeastern state of Sikkim as the temperature remained below 8-degree Celsius on December 3rd, 2020.

Several tourists thronged to Tsomgo Lake, parts of North and West Sikkim to witness the snowfall and enjoy the chilly weather. Upperparts of North and West Sikkim, Nathu la has been receiving heavy snowfall since yesterday afternoon and the landscapes have turned into a winter wonderland.

Meanwhile, East Sikkim district collector Raj Yadav, and Chairperson for District Management Authority, has issued an order to the tourist officer not to issue any permit to visit Nathu la under Disaster Management Act 2005, on January 4th and 5th, 2020 owing to the inclement weather.

Nathula Pass is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the capital city of Gangtok.

On the other hand, the locals are facing trouble to carry out their daily chores as traffic authorities have stopped vehicular movement due to the snowfall.
