GUWAHATI: With the state government decided to bring in more relaxation of public movement from next week in view of the improvement of the COVID 19 situation in the state, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to resume the service of Guwahati – Jorhat Town – Guwahati Jan Shatabdi Special from Monday.
However, the NFR has said that the train service would be available for only five days instead of the normal six days a week.
“The Guwahati – Jorhat Town – Guwahati Jan Shatabdi Special train will run from Monday to Friday in a week,” said NFR authority.
Earlier, the state government has also relaxed the lockdown norms and decided to allow the functioning of trade and inter-district movement of individuals during the day between Monday to Friday. The weekend lockdown on Saturday and Sundays will remain as usual.
It may be mentioned here that service of the Jan Shatabdi Express has remained canceled since June 29 in view of the imposition of complete lock-down in Kamrup Metropolitan district, said Subhanan Chanda, Chief Public Relations Officer NFR.
