“Janta hi Janardhan”: Assam CM on scolding Nagaon DC for halting traffic
Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday publicly scolded Nagaon Deputy Commissioner Nisarg Hivare for allegedly blocking traffic on the Barhampur road so that the Chief Minister’s convoy could pass.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, with the Chief Minister lambasting the officer for promoting “VIP Culture.”
Later, the Chief Minister clarifying his actions, said that he wants to create an environment in which public servants work for the betterment of the public.
Taking to Twitter, CM wrote, “In our state we want to create a culture where DC,SP or any govt servant /public rep-irrespective of background,intellectual capacity or popularity will work only for the people Changing babu mindset is a tough, but we are determined to achieve our goal-Janta hi Janardhan.”

Sarma was in Nagaon district to launch a park and a bridge over the Kolong River, both of which were built by the Nagaon Municipality Board to commemorate the country’s 75th anniversary of independence. He also attended to a few additional official events.
