Jet Airways to withdraw Northeast flights

Guwahati, December 6: Jet Airways, in a move to cut down losses will be withdrawing its flights from the city to Silchar, Jorhat, Aizawl and Imphal in February next as part of a “route rationalisation” exercise.

The move of the full-service airline came to cap a period of financial turbulence, especially over the past three quarters.

The airline has suspended flights to Silchar, Imphal, Aizawl, Jorhat in northeastern states from mid-February, leaving Guwahati its sole destination in the region.

It is to mention that this move will severely affect connectivity to the northeast region while making the ticket prices to soar.
