    Jorhat, Barpeta admins ordered closure of Lower primary schools from tomorrow

    The Jorhat district magistrate Roshni Aparanji Korati in the notification also stated that as on April 18, the active COVID-19 cases have crossed 100 numbers

    Guwahati: Soon after Kamrup Metro District administration ordered to shutdown Lower primary schools (both Government and Private) from April 19, the district administrations of Barpeta and Jorhat have ordered for an immediate shut down of all Lower primary schools up to class V in their respective districts (both Government and Private) from Monday onwards.

    As per a notification, the decision was made considering the steady increase and latest surge in active COVID-19 cases in some of the districts in the state of Assam.

    The Jorhat district magistrate Roshni Aparanji Korati in the notification also stated that as on April 18, the active COVID-19 cases have crossed 100 numbers.

    Similarly, in Barpeta, the district administration declared that the Lower Primary schools (Both Government and Private) upto Class V shall remain close from April 19. However, the order shall remain in force up to May 8.

    It may also be mentioned that the active COVID-19 cases in the Barpeta district have crossed 100 numbers on Sunday.
