Justice JK Maheswari sworn as Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court
Gangtok: Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari has sworn in as 21st Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court on Wednesday at Raj Bhawan.
Governor Ganga Prasad administered the oath of affirmation and secrecy of the office of the Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court.
The Collegiums’ proposal to have the Chief Justices of Andhra Pradesh High Court and Sikkim High Court switch places has been greenlit by the central Government through two notifications issued.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the transfers by a resolution passed on December 14 last year.
Chief Justice JK Maheswari was born on 29 June, 1961 in a small village of Joura District of Morena. He was a practicing lawyer in Gwalior before he was elevated to the bench. He has served in Hadhya Pradesh High Court till September 2019 and was transferred and elevated to Chief Justice of Andra Pradesh High Court till last month.
