Kailash Kher makes his maiden visit to Manipur for Orange Festival

Imphal/Guwahati, December 7: Singer and Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher who recently pledged his support to promote the oranges of Manipur arrived in Tamenglong to attend the 14th State Level Orange Festival on Thursday.

This is the singer’s maiden visit to Manipur and is all set to perform in the upcoming Orange festival on Thursday night and will be performing at the festival for free as he is very passionate about promoting the “international class oranges” that Manipur produces.

The residents of Tamenglong in Manipur expressed their sheer joy and happiness saying that while other celebrities of B-Town (Bollywood) were busy holidaying in foreign lands, Kailash Kher took out time to come and visit Manipur.

The people hailed the efforts of the young and dynamic District Collector (DC) Armstrong Pame, who took lead in facilitating Kher’s trip and making it a reality.

According to sources, the singer visited the nearby villages, met the people and also had a taste of the local cuisine.

The singer has visited the Northeast region on several occasions however this is his first visit to Manipur. The five-day long festival will also feature various entertainment and sporting events like Kayaking, apart from the usual orange harvest competition.
