Kailash Kher pledges to promote Manipuri oranges

Imphal, November 5: Singer and Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher will make his maiden visit to Manipur and has pledged to promote oranges produced there.

Kailash Kher is all set to perform in the upcoming Orange festival which will be organised from December 6 to 10 in Tamenglong in Manipur. He will be performing at the festival for free as he is very passionate about promoting the “international class oranges” that
Manipur produces.

Over 50 varieties of international class oranges are produced in Manipur, but it fails to hit the market due to lack of adequate transportation.

The singer has visited the Northeast region on several occasions however this will be his first visit to Manipur.
The five-day long festival will also feature various entertainment and sporting events like Kayaking, apart from the usual orange harvest competition.

An Orange Queen contest will also be organised on the closing day of the festival.
