    Kalaigaon Lady Teacher Death: CID, Forensic rushed to Spot

    Police suspected that the deceased was possibly attacked with some chemicals like Acid

    Guwahati: Assam Police CID has been roped in to probe the suspected murder of a lady teacher whose body was recovered from a school building in Kalaigaon area of Assam’s Udalguri district.

    The deceased identified as one Nayantara Sahariah, a resident of Kalaigaon College road, went missing on July 6 and later her body was found under mysterious conditions on Tuesday in a classroom of a private school at about 100 metres from her residence.

    The incident immediately triggered sensation in the area and state’s chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal also asked the state police to conduct a thorough investigation.

    On Wednesday, Assam Police Director General, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said, “As directed by the chief minister, Assam CID officials and forensic experts dispatched to assist the Udalguri Police. No stone will be left unturned to bring the culprits to book.”

    She had gone missing on Monday morning after she went out for a morning walk.

    Though police have not shared any details of the investigation so far, police suspected that the deceased was possibly attacked with some chemicals like Acid

    Sources claimed that the deceased and her husband were having frequent altercations.

    Police said on Monday when she did not return after the morning walk, her husband filed a missing report.
