Guwahati: The Kamrup Chamber of Commerce (KCC) on Wednesday announced its decision to support and join the one-day “Bharat Vyapar Bandh” on February 26, 2021.
The bandh is called by Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) to oppose recent Goods and Service Tax (GST) amendment.
“Majority of Chamber of Commerce from different district of Assam has supported the Bndh and we therefore request to all the trade organisation and chamber of commerce of Assam State to support this Bandh,” the KCC stated in a release.
They also strongly condemned the new amendments that are being made in GST, and urged the government to re-consider the decision.
Meanwhile, the Assam Jatiya Parishad has also announced its support to the bandh. Jagadish Bhuyan, general secretary of the party said, “If the GST amendment is implemented then the traders will suffer a lot.”
