Kamrup (M) District Administration bans selling of Plastic made National Flags in Guwahati


Guwahati, August 10: Ahead of the Independence Day, the Kamrup (M) District Administration on Thursday stated in a press statement that some street vendors and shopkeepers have been selling plastic made Flags in and around the city on the occasion of Independence Day, thus, the administration had appealed to all the street vendors and shopkeepers to stop selling such plastic made flags in the city.

The administration had also appealed to the public that flags made of plastic are not to be used by them further as it is a violation of the ‘Flag Code of India, 2002’ consistent with the dignity of the flag.

Also, as per section 2 of Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act 1971, one should not disrespect the National Flag.
