Karimganj police arrested three drug peddlers, seizes 1.69 kg of heroin in two operations

Guwahati: In an anti-narcotics operation led by Additional SP HQ of Karimganj police, around 690 grams of heroin packed in 49 soap cases worth at least 5 crores were recovered in the Patharkandi PS area on Sunday evening.

The police also arrested one person in connection to the incident.

Interestingly, another 1 kg Heroin, concealed in 65 soap cases, along with 20,000 YABA tablets was seized on the same day.

Two accused have been apprehended during the operation.

Taking to Twitter, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hailed the Karimganj police saying, “As a combined result of two back-to-back operations launched by @karimganjpolice in Patharkandi, 1 kg Heroin, packed in 65 soap cases, along with 20,000 YABA tablets have been seized on Sunday. Two accused have been apprehended.”
