Guwahati,September 4: Karwan-e-mohabbat, a journey of love, atonement and solidarity began today from Guwahati. It is a large collaborative civil society initiative, a month -long journey which will include visiting families which have suffered from mob violence to offer atonement and solidarity.
In each state, they will assess how the family is coping and their needs. They will also take stock of the pursuit of justice. Today is the first phase of this journey, and it will cover Assam, Jharkhand will most likely cover Karnataka as well. The journey will end at Porbandar on 2nd October.
A meeting was held today at Lakhidhar bora Khetra, near Dighalipukhuri to flag off the rally. Prasanta Dandi, leader of Ambedker student Union, Prof. Dilip Bora, Harshmander, Manjit Mahanta, Shehla Rashid, Risa Singh were present there alongwith students from other states.
Senior Journalist and Convenor Asom Sangrami Mancha, Manjit Mahanta said that it is a good sign that many of the students leader along with Harsmander from other state of India have come forward to participate.
