Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on October 12th, 2019 opened the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) for the visitors for this season.
The Chief Minister opened the Bagori and Kohora Range of the world heritage site for tourists at functions held at Bagori and Mihimukh. “With its immense biodiversity, the KNP is Assam’s pride. The government has taken several measures for the development, beautification and conservation of the park,” Sonowal said.
He further asked upon all the stakeholders including the households, restaurants, hotels, resorts to keep their areas clean and highlight the serene beauty and uniqueness of Kaziranga.
Sonowal said that to protect the rich bio-diversity of Kaziranga, a 32-km long flyover will be constructed. The flyover will be constructed on the National Highway-37 towards the southern direction of the KNP.
He also enjoyed jeep safari along with State Environment and Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, State Water Resources Minister Keshab Mahanta, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and MLA Bimal Bora. “Saw the majesty of the one-horned rhinoceros at Kaziranga National Park,” tweeted Sonowal.
