Chief Minister Pema Khandu pitched for identifying new sporting talents from schools, colleges other than sports academy. DirectorGeneral of Sports Authority of India Sandeep Pradhan called on Chief Minister Pema Khandu on September 28th, 2019.
Chief Minister assured full support of the state government during Pradhan’s tour of the state to assess the sports facilities in the state.

The meeting discussed the opening of three new state-of-the-art sports academies to hone the talents of the state. The exclusive academies will be opened for martial arts, weight lifting and boxing. “Sports matter most for overall development of our country,” Khandu tweeted.
On infrastructure issue, Chief Minister suggested use of prefabricated buildings considering the challenging working period in Arunachal due to unfavourable weather conditions.
