Guwahati: Assam police nabbed a Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) cadre on Saturday in Assam’s Sivasagar district.
The cadre has been identified as Mridul Barman, resident of Charaideo.
As per sources, Barman was arrested for his alleged links with banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I).
Further investigation is underway.
On April 24, two militants of a faction of the Kamtapur Liberation Organisation were killed while four others arrested following a gunfight with security forces in Kokrajhar district.
The two deceased cadres have been identified as Abhijit Deka of Rowta and Nipun Roy of Bongaigaon.
Two camps of the outfit KLO(KN) were also destroyed in the operation.
Meanwhile, four cadres managed to flee from the incident spot.
