    KMSS leader Dharjya Konwar granted bail in NIA case

    The Gauhati high court on Thursday granted bail to KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi in three anti –CAA cases

    Guwahati: A National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Friday granted bail to Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Dharjya Konwar.

    Konwar who has been recently tested positive with COVID19 and undergoing treatment at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) was arrested for his alleged role in the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) movement in Assam.

    The development came a day after the Gauhati high court on Thursday granted bail to KMSS chief Akhil Gogoi in three anti –CAA police cases registered in Chabua.

    Gogoi too has been currently undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at GMCH after he was tested positive.

    Already, Gogoi’s another two associates- Bitu Sonowal and Manash Konwar were also granted bail.
