    Kokrajhar Supdt of Excise caught red-handed taking bribe of Rs 25,000

    Guwahati: The sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam on Friday caught Superintendent of Excise, Kokrajhar Himan Jyoti Bora for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 25,000.

    According to a press statement, the bribe was demanded by the accused person from the complainant who manages the wine shop. He received the bribe in his rented house located near MRM Hospital, Kokrajhar.

    The tainted bribe money was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses.

    A case has been registered in Anti-Corruption Bureau Police Station vide ACB PS case No. 08/2021 U/S 7(a) of PC Act against him. Investigation of the case is on.

    Head Assistant, Lanka High School, Lanka caught red-handed Taking Bribe of Rs 10,000

    Another Trap was laid on September 10, 2021 by a team of the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam in Lanka, Hojai District.

    At around 6.30 PM, one Bikash Rai, Head Assistant, Lanka High School, Lanka was caught red-handed by the team while he was accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand).

    The accused person had demanded a bribe from a retired teacher for processing his leave encashment matter.

    On Friday, the accused person had called the complainant and received a bribe from him in front of Lanka High School. The tainted bribe money was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses.

    In this connection, a case has been registered in Anti-Corruption Bureau Police Station vide ACB PS case No. 07/2021 U/S 7(a) of PC Act against him. Investigation of the case is on.
