Guwahati: Tensions have escalated on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border after a group of 40 unidentified miscreants attacked residents of Rajgarh Rupahi village, located in the Kadam subdivision of Lakhimpur district in Assam on Sunday.

According to reports, about 12 local residents in the area were injured in the incident.

It is learned that the miscreants used many sharp weapons including rods to attack the locals.

Notably, this incident came to light when the whole country celebrated 75 years of independence on Monday.
