    Love Books? Guwahati Book Fair starts on Dec 30

    The fair was slated to be conducted in December 2019 but was postponed to March 2020, due to anti- CAA protests

    GUWAHATI: Cheering the booklovers, Guwahati geared up for the 33rd edition of the Guwahati Book Fair, the largest literary festivals of the region, from December 30, 2020, to January 10, 2021, organized by the Assam Publication Board

    To be inaugurated by Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, the 12 days book fair will be held at Assam Engineering Institute Playground, Chandmari.

    Over 117 book stalls from various publications will be set up in the fair.

    In a statement, the Board said that around 10 books will be released at the inaugural function. Former Governor of Tripura-Tathagata Roy and writer Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi will be the chief guest at the inauguration program.

    Earlier, the fair was supposed to be conducted in December 2019 but was postponed to March 2020, due to the anti- Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests. Later it got deferred indefinitely due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
