    Maharashtra: 5 killed, 34 injured after bus falls into gorge

    The incident took place at Kodaibari ghat around 3.15 am when the private bus was going from Malkapur to Surat in Gujrat.

    Guwahati: In a tragic incident, at least five people were killed and 34 other were injured after a speeding bus fell into a gorge in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

    The incident took place at Kodaibari ghat around 3.15 am when the private bus was going from Malkapur to Surat in Gujrat.

    As per information, the bus driver lost control over the wheels in the ghat section following which the vehicle fell into a 60-80 foot deep gorge after another bus dashed into the bus.

    Police and local rescue teams rushed to the spot and undertook the rescue operation.

    The injured persons have been shifted to Civil Hospital Nandurbar for treatment.
