Guwahati: In a horrific incident, a man allegedly killed his two-month pregnant wife in Assam’s Kamrup district, the official said on Friday.

The incident took place on Wednesday at Boko in the district.

The accused is identified as Akhtar Hussain, a resident of Natun Deuchar village in the district.

The deceased woman was identified as 17-year-old Sajida Begum, a resident of Kolohikash village of Boko.

It is alleged that Akhtar was having an affair with another woman which was being opposed by his wife. As per sources, the couple got married only six months ago. 

However, Akhtar and his family are on the run after the crime.

The deceased body was sent for postmortem at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

The victim’s family registered a complaint in the murder case with the Boko police.

Following the complaint, Police have started an investigation into the case. Further investigation is underway.
