Guwahati: Lakhimpur on Wednesday arrested one Afzat Ali for allegedly stabbing a 20-year-old youth to death over a game of Ludo at Moidumia in North Lakhimpur district last Sunday evening.

The deceased was identified as Issad Ali.

According to the sources, Issad Ali and five friends including the accused Afzat Ali were playing Ludo when the latter got into an argument with Issad over the game, which led to a physical fight between the two thereafter. Afzat was reportedly supported by the other four friends, informed sources.

Issad sustained fatal knife injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital, however, he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Following the incident, accused Afzat Ali fled the scene and absconded.

Wanted Afzat Ali was arrested from Mohghuli, in Naoboicha under Lakhimpur district.
