Guwahati: In a bizarre incident, a minor girl has been allegedly raped and impregnated by her ‘lover’ in Lakhimpur district of Assam.
The accused has been identified as one Ramjan Ali, who hailed from Mankachar and was working as a laborer in the house of one Sahabul Islam in Lakhimpur.
Reportedly, Ali raped the minor girl and impregnated her on the pretext of love and later absconded to Mankachar in Dhubri district.
After being pregnant for four months, the girl was taken by Sahabul Islam to meet Ramjan in Mankachar. But Islam allegedly raped her inside the vehicle they were travelling.
The family member of the victim filed an FIR regarding the incident following which police arrested Sahabul Islam under the POSCO act.
