    Assam Man Who Died In Quarantine Centre Tested COVID-19 Negative

    The mortal remains of the deceased were taken to Barpeta for the last rites

    The 53-year-old man who died at a quarantine centre in Lakhimpur district in Assam on Wednesday was tested negative for novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

    On Wednesday, it was suspected that the person, identified as Ali Hussain died after being infected with the virus but after his post-mortem, it was found that he was not infected but the cause of death is still awaited as the final post-mortem report is yet to arrive.

    The person had visited the Tablighi Jamat in Delhi’s Nizamuddin all final tests have shown that he was not infected by the virus.

    Superintendent of North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital in a report to the police stated that the post-mortem examination performed on the body of the deceased has been found negative as reported by ICMR-RMRC, Dibrugarh.

    The mortal remains of the deceased were taken to Barpeta for the last rites.
