Manipur: 79 acres of poppy crops destroyed

Guwahati: About 79 acres of poppy cultivation were destroyed as part of the government’s drug campaign, official stated on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, a joint team of Manipur Police, Manipur Rifles, NAB and Forest officials demolished around 53 acres of poppy planting in Maokot Hill Range, Kamjong District and approximately 26 acres of poppy plantation in Lanchah Hill Range, Kamjong District on Wednesday.

Police stated, further investigation was underway.
