The State Assembly in a release issued on June 10th, 2019, stated that the persons portrayed in the video are “neither MLAs or officials of Bihar Legislative Assembly”, and that the news item was “misleading” and was aimed at “tarnishing the image of the visiting VIPs as well as the Manipur Legislative Assembly”.

The notice came after a number of the media houses had reported the incident following the news item.

In its notice to the newspaper the Manipur Assembly has asked its position for the news item in the next 24 hours.

As per media reports, MLA Yaduvansh Kumar Yadav, who represents Pipra (Supaul) Assembly Constituency, was reportedly seen in the video trying to hold the girl’s waist and shoulder even as she tries to remove his hand repeatedly.

Names of three other legislators MLA Sachin Prasad Singh of BJP who represents Kalyanpur (East Champaran) Assembly Constituency, MLA Shivachandra Ram of RJD from Raja Pakar (SC) (Vaishali) Assembly Constituency and MLA Raj Kumar Rai of JD (U) who represents Hasanpur (Samastipur) was also alleged.

The Members of the Committee on Internal Resource and Central Assistance of the Bihar Legislative Assembly visited the Manipur Legislative Assembly last week as a part of a study tour. Yadav is the chairman of the committee.

Meanwhile, Yadav has dismissed the video as fake.
