Guwahati: Manipur chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh on Sunday said that he had tested positive for highly contagious coronavirus.
Sharing the news on his Twitter account, Singh urged those who came in contact with him to self-isolate themselves and get tested.
“I have tested positive for COVID-19. I request all those who came in close contact with me recently, to self isolate and get tested,” he wrote.
So far, Manipur had registered 21,636 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3,084 active and 18,334 recoveries.
The state has also reported five more COVID related deaths in last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 218.
