Guwahati: Tukaramgate police on Wednesday arrested a man from Manipur on a transit warrant for the alleged murder of his childhood friend in Hyderabad.

The accused has been identified as Priyajith Namasudra (21), while the deceased victim is identified as Dipendu Biswas (23).

Earlier, on July 27, a woman complained to the police that her brother had been missing for the last two days in Manipur.

Meanwhile, on the same day, a dead body was found at Hyderabad’s Tukaram Gate.

However, the woman was informed by the police, and she later confirmed that the body was of her brother, Dipendu.

During the investigation, it was found that the deceased and accused were childhood friends.

According to the official, Namasudra suspected that Biswas was developed a relationship with his wife, and also warned him multiple times to change his behavior.

To consume liquor, Namasudra took Biswas to an under-construction site at Trimurthi Colony on July 25, while Biswas was inebriated, he was killed with a wooden block, and he died on the spot.

After the incident, the accused left for Manipur with his wife.

Following the incident, the police apprehended Namasudra in Imphal, brought him to Hyderabad on a transit warrant, and presented him in court on Wednesday.
