Manipur: Two active cadres of Myanmar-based militants arrested

Guwahati: At least two active cadres of the Myanmar-based underground outfit, ‘People Defence Force’ (PDF), were arrested in Manipur.

Based on specific information, Manipur police along with Railway and in-charge Special Commando Unit conducted frisking and checking at the India-Myanmar border near Jangnoi village in Tengnoupal district.

During the search operation, police arrested two militants and seized two vehicles, one pistol, some live rounds of ammunition, and Myanmar currencies from their possession, officials said.

The arrested militants have been identified as Neipaing (38), a resident of Tamu Thauyuwate, and Yeyint Aung (35) from Uphapha of Tamu, both in Myanmar, they are active members of PDF, a Myanmar-based underground organization.
