Guwahati: A massive fire broke out at a residential property in Assam’s Guwahati on Sunday night.
The incident took place at the rented house of a person identified as Archana Terangpi in the Lokhra area.
According to sources, following the incident, a cylinder explosion was also reported and everything in the house engulfed by flames.
Properties worth several lakh rupees were gutted in the fire. There is no report of any casualties so far.
Several fire tenders were immediately pressed into service and it took around an hour for firefighters to douse the flames.
On Saturday too, a fire broke out at a house in Jotia in Guwahati’s Kahilipara area. At least three cylinders exploded as a result of the fire, said sources.
