    Mayong police rescue three missing children at Panikhaiti

    The case was cracked by police in just 17 hours of the incident

    Guwahati: Mayong police along with Panikhaiti police rescued the three missing children, who went missing last Friday night.

    The case was cracked by police in just 17 hours of the incident.

    All the three minors were rescued near Panikhaiti railway station, informed sources.  

    As per reports, two out of the three minors were siblings and were residents of Ouguri village in Mayong.

    A case was also registered earlier on Friday night at Mayong police station following the missing report.

    Police during their investigation recovered two hands-written letters, where the children allegedly claimed to leave their homes by themselves.

    As per few eyewitnesses, a Maruti Alto car was spotted while the minors went missing earlier in the midnight hours.

    Later, in the morning hours, one railway official posted at Thakurkusi area namely Tulan Saikia reportedly spotted them at Thakurkus-Panikhaiti railway tracks.

    Following the incident, Director General of Police, Assam Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta also reached Mayong police station in the early hours.

    Meanwhile, Mayong police has sent all the children for medical testing.
