Meghalaya: 5 Feared Dead After Bus Carrying 21 Passengers Falls Into River

GUWAHATI: Five people died as a bus carrying at least 21 passengers fell in a river in Meghalaya on Thursday at 12 am.

The night bus was travelling from Tura to Shillong.

Rongjeng and Williamnagar Fire and Emergency Services dispatched rescue teams to the accident location to assist the casualties.

Confirmed dead and Other injured shifted Rongjeng PHC for medical assistance.

Concerned family members may be called to William Nagar police control for assistance.

According to the report, rescue attempts are being made to save a life.

Rain had expanded the river, which had a high current.

There were nine passengers from Tura and twelve passengers from Williamnagar, according to the list obtained from the concerned counters.

As per the list collected from concerned counters, there were 9 (nine) passengers from Tura and 12 ( Twelve) passengers from Williamnagar.
